Hi, my name is Angad, and I’m building ChatGPT for Financial Services, our enterprise offering for banking, hedge funds, and other financial services verticals.
As I work towards building financial intelligence in ChatGPT, I’ve learnt a lot about finance as a software engineer. I’d like to share what I’ve learned, and my learning progress, with you.
Finance is an intellectually deep field that traverses numbers and narratives equally. A lot has been written about how markets are rational, until they’re not. This randomness is the most attractive thing for someone who thrives on learning and finding patterns.
Most of my learning has come through conversations with bankers, reading commentary and opinions on world financial markets, and asking ChatGPT a lot of dumb questions.
I promise I’ll be writing the words in this series of posts myself, sourced from the best LLM available to me: my brain.
I hope reading about my learning feels as if I’m sitting right next to you and we’re having a conversation. I’m not aiming for perfection, but I am aiming for authenticity.
I’ll structure this as a series of posts with enough depth to help you read the Financial Times end to end and hold a conversation with anyone from a hedge fund manager to a sell-side investment banker.
